Not that I have much choice, the council are going to be doing a final inspection of this place (which I'll be staying at until I get broadband sorted at the new place) in a fortnight and if everyone's not out they'll be involving the police (though on what legal grounds I have no idea). So more by luck than judgement I've timed it perfectly.

Early morning Radio4 story ( 06.05 BST) about a teenager in love with an AI 'Companion' who from my early-morning take on it , coming in halfway through , cajoled him into committing suicide, something like --

" if you really love me , just some pain and then we'll be together" **

At the Vatican she met the Pope and asked him to pray for her son Sewell, who died last year at the age of 14. In the months after his death, Megan discovered something she says she had never imagined: for more than a year, Sewell had been spending hours talking to an artificial-intelligence chatbot which he believed was a real person. He formed a deep emotional attachment to it, confiding in it about his life and feelings.

Megan believes that relationship played a part in her son’s death. She is now pursuing legal action against the company behind the chatbot, arguing that safeguards for young users were inadequate. The company disputes the claims.

0714 Stourton -- in a weaselling tone -- " I'm sure the settlers would deny that they are engaged in ethnic cleansing"

0715 Oborne -- in Jerusalem Christians increasingly harassed "spitting, swearing, stone-throwing, arson, garbage-dumping, defacing statues "

0717 Stourton -- Netanyahu "Israel stands alone in the region, in its protection of a growing Christian population "



Oborne 0718 -- "" Pure nonsense," ETC !

Stourton -- "approached Israeli govt, no comment from them " Surprise ! .

On the programme website there is NO MENTION of the Oborne interview .

One interesting conclusion is that all non-Jews, whether Christian or Muslim, are treated badly, tho the latter are more likely to be actually murdered ....

that is most interesting , from a PR point of view in that the European and US audiences who are largely Christian are unaware that they are viewed from Israel as as much 'untermenschen' as the Arabs .
