This is the real problem, who would be any better? EdM said he wouldn't do it and he or Angela Rayner would get it in the neck from the media far, far worse than Starmer or Streeting. Though Ed might do ChX which would be a definite improvement.

Interesting example of joined-up govt is that it took two day for SKS to inform Lil Yvette currently at the FO . And there is also Lammy in the firing line --
Sir Olly Robbins, the current permanent secretary in the Foreign Office, was the department’s top civil servant in late January 2025 when the decision was made, having taken up the role earlier that month. The foreign secretary was David Lammy, who is now the deputy prime minister.
