Went to vote this morning and who should I bump into outside the polling station but Mothin Ali. What a lovely bloke, it was quiet so we had time for a decent chat. He seemed a bit taken aback when I said it wasn't often I met a celebrity, but once I'd calmed down we had a good chinwag about how shit Labour have turned out to be, racist dickheads and the right wing press giving him grief, the huge rise in the Green vote in the area and much else besides.
He's a little, softly spoken bloke who seemed quite shy, at least to me, not quite the Islamist Marxist terror portrayed by the bed wetters at the Mail and Telegraph.
Oh yeah and obviously I voted Green.

But of course, it's the only Jewish party leader that gets scrutinised for 'antisemitism'.

I won't be doing that QT special tomorrow night I'm afraid, I'm off to a gig.
One can only hope that tomorrow is the final nail in the coffin for Starmer and the right of the Labour Party. Given a truly historic opportunity what have they achieved? An unprecedented level of unpopularity, even amongst their own voters. Living up to everyone's worst expectations and often exceeding them. Being too cowardly to confront a resurgence of racism and the far right because it might hurt them electorally. And for what? What have they gained from this craven betrayal of the values of their members, voters, and much of their parliamentary party? Because unless something miraculous occurs they're going to be facing a hiding tomorrow the like of which has never been seen before.
Oh they'll bleat and scaremonger and kick and scream but we all know they're finished and it's just a matter of time, though given how firmly the right have entrenched themselves in Labour's institutions they're still going to be a difficult turd to flush.
Anyway attic flat temperature report. Outside - looks like a little over 10°. Inside - 21.3°.
