It was actually worse than that if you can believe it. I've listened to bits and besides the re-hashed platitudes and empty promises it was probably most notable for his veiled threat that getting rid of him would hurt us more than it would hurt him. Like some sad desperate lover telling you they're the best you'll ever get when you try to dump them. The lowest kind of emotional blackmail. And if what we're hearing tonight about Cooper and Mahmood is true it seems even the right of the party aren't buying it. Which makes sense, the sooner a leadership contest takes place the bigger the advantage the right have.
